Trevor in the Snow

Megan's Snowball dress

Megan with sparkly Converse

Ahhh, finally. Many restarts and much frustration with trying to get this blog going again. Apparently in the few months that I wasn't blogging, blogger came up with 'updates/improvements' that freak me the heck out. I am a rut person. Once I learn one way to do something, when it gets switched up on me, I panic. Even if this new format is supposed to be easier. lol.

So, a lot of time has passed, new year, new things happening....but somehow it seems like so much is the same. Just busy. Things come and go quickly. Probably too much to really try and cover....so I'll just start with the present. Or a few weeks ago at least.

Megan had her big "Snowball" dance at school. My pictures aren't that great, because Megan had a friend come over and get ready with her.....and both were too busy for me to get many pictures. A friend of mine (Jessica, who has done her hair in the past) came over to the house and did both girls' hair. They both looked great.

The shoe situation.....Megan is much like me, and even in the middle of winter would prefer to be barefooted around the house. She got ready and the only time she stood still long enough was when she was putting some makeup on in the bathroom after getting her hair done. Barefooted. Then she was deciding between a pair of heels that we had bought, (sparkly silver strappy things) and her sparkly converse that she had worn to school that day. We had been joking for months about her wearing her converse since she'd probably be the most comfortable during the dance while everybody else sat out because their feet hurt. (Apparently this was a big thing last year, and evident by the hobbled walking of every girl walking out after the dance, holding their shoes in their hands because their feet hurt!) She did go with the sparkly heels, but I realized the only photo I have is when she was wearing the converse. So, eventually I'll have a photo of her with her dress on again, and her real shoes. The girls were busy and in a huge hurry to get out the door.  We will have to get more photos later.

It sounds like they all had a great time at the dance. They all got together afterwards both at our house and at El Toro.

The snowy pictures are about the only snow we have seen this year. The kids have not been happy about that. Despite going through all of the known superstitious routines that they go through at night in hopes of making a snow day a reality.....inside out jammies, flusing of ice, and sleeping with a spoon under your pillow. Nothing this year. Bummer.

Happy belated new year. I didn't think of one resolution this year. Maybe to get back into a better blogging routine. lol.
